“A kid grows up a lot faster on the golf course. Golf teaches you how to behave.”

What is the PGA Junior League?

The PGA Junior League is a great program for any kid who wants to learn golf and have fun! In a nutshell, it’s like Little League Baseball for golf. We form teams and play against other teams within our own in-house league.  We have uniforms, we have some snacks and ice cream after the matches, and most of all we have fun. PGA Junior League Golf is a nationwide program with great local support.

Format

You don’t have to be an experienced golfer to have fun – you play “captain’s choice” style where you can pick the best of your shot or your teammate’s. The nine hole matches are divided into three hole “Flags”, so every three holes you are playing for a new Flag; the team that wins the most flags wins that match!! You’ll play a different team (and in most instances a different course) each week, so you and your teammates will always be having FUN!!

Our Coaches

Each of our PGA Junior League Golf teams are coached by an experienced golf professional, and they are focused on making sure that the PGA Junior League Golf experience is fun and rewarding for each participant! All coaches have annual background checks conducted by the PGA of America as well as the Woodridge Park District. We also encourage and welcome parents to get involved with practices and matches, regardless of experience.

Safety

Many parents are turning to sports like golf as a fun alternative to concussion prone sports such as football and soccer. While we encourage kids to follow their passions and have diversified interests, we also realize the life skills and character attributes that golf can build in our youth. While no sport is immune to injury, golf is about as safe as it gets. In addition to background checks for all of our instructors, we are also trained in child abuse and neglect procedures and registered through DCFS. We are also trained and certified in First Aid, CPR, and AED operations. We take safety as seriously as we do having fun!
